Okabu Egg Guide

This game was actually a lot of fun which I definitely wasn't expecting based on the images I had seen beforehand, but I'm a huge fan of the puzzle-type games and figuring out how to get through the levels, rather than just straight-out blowing stuff up with random weapons like most games tend to be. Anyways, the eggs can sometimes be a little hard to spot. A couple of them are completely hidden from view and I just happened to pick them up randomly exploring the map (because I refused to leave the level until I found them). I have to say, the ones near the beginning of the game seemed harder to find. Maybe it's just because I got used to finding them and figured out all the possible hiding places so it wasn't fooling me anymore. Either way, here's a guide to finding all the eggs in Okabu!

Lake Waka: A Yorubo Welcome

  • After you get through the two sets of gates and kill the two Dozabots, go to the right gate and talk to the villager. After a very short conversation (if you skip it by pressing X), you'll be able to grab the egg. If you try to grab the egg without talking to him, it will push you away. You have to talk to him first.
  • Once you've talked to the village elder and then headed up to talk to your first villager for the objective, it will show you the acorn trees and that they are now on the ground. Any time while you're still in the village, pick up a few acorns and head to the right where there are three large statues. Shoot the statues and an egg will appear.
  • After sounding the gong, you'll come out to a bridge with fire in front of it. Go down the path to the water and head left between the cliffs to the waterfall to find an egg on some rocks.

Lake Waka: Lake Waka Shores

  • Once you have met Monkfish (the harpoon guy) and he is on your back, head all the way up to the tree with the bombs (orange/yellow spiky balls) on it. Grab one using the harpoon and drag it to the wall with the red "X" on it. When it blows, you'll find an egg behind it.
  • At the lake with the giant mother fish, head up to the tree with the fire balls (orange/yellow balls, without the spikes). Use the harpoon to grab the tree and move back and forth to shake it and they will follow off. Quickly drop Monkfish and grab the fire balls. Head to the right where there is a large statue up on a cliff, next to an arched rock. Shoot it with a fire ball and an egg will appear, then just shoot the egg and it will fall down for you to grab.
  • After breaking some blocks with a bomb, head right and then down into the water area. Shake the tree with fire balls to grab some and shoot the large statue in the middle to reveal another egg.

Lake Waka: Fishermans Village

  • At the very start, head down and to the left. Use the harpoon to remove the boards from in front of the egg to grab it. I just used the cloud to move up against the board (from the left side) and they all fell over.
  • Once you get to the first bomb tree, grab one and carry it down the slope all the way to the left to a wall with a red "X" on it. Be quick because the bomb will explode prematurely if you're not fast enough. Once the walls is destroyed, an egg will appear there.
  • Once at Fishermans Village, grab some fire balls and head down to the waterfalls. Shoot the large statue up on the cliff then shoot the egg to knock it down.

Lake Waka: Picolo Farm

  • Once you've released the bull, guide him back down to the area you came from and to then up to a gate with a red "X" on it to make the bull smash through it and reveal an egg in the small pathway.
  • After defeating all the Dozabots (which is a good idea before trying to get this one), head up to a small area on a cliff, just to the right of the pen with the cart in it. Shake the acorn tree and pick some up. Then head to the right where there is a drained lake (unless you've filled it already)and shoot the large statue on the ledge above the water. Then just shoot the egg that appears to knock it down off the ledge.
  • Once you've carried the grain back to the barn, which is required to complete the level, the barn doors will open in a cut-scene and reveal another egg.

Lake Waka: Diobolical Doza

  • Once you get to the first cannon, you will need to use it to destroy the two large walls with a white "X" on them. The one on the right will have an egg hidden behind it.
  • At the gate to the second cannon up on a hill, head into the river and follow the river left and up to a waterfall. The egg is sitting in a small patch of grass to the left of the waterfall. It is a bit hard to see so just move around in that area until it says you've grabbed it.
  • Use the chickletts on the other side of the river (up by the final gate) to eat the bushes back down by the river and reveal an egg behind them.

Karibu Valley: Enter Karibu Valley

  • When you first enter the village (going up the slope), there is an egg on top of the building to the left. You can simply use the harpoon to grab it and pull it down.
  • When you've killed the three Dozabots in front of a huge door with a pile of explosives in front, use the goat to go right and up a hill to the second scope and blow up the explosives in front of a whit"X" below. There will be an egg hidden behind it.
  • At the last scope (with the trains), blow up some explosives to the right of the light-activated switches and an egg will appear behind the door that was blown. Use the harpoon to get it down.

Karibu Valley: Break Out Roki

  • In the first large village, use the cannon to take out the Dozabot in the middle of a bunch of buildings that also have bushes in between them. If you can't get the cannon ball to reach him, aim the cannon down then quickly back up and shoot at the peak range and it should hit him. You can also use the goat if you want. Then use the chicklets to eat the bushes and reveal an egg.
  • At the bridge with the gap in the middle (right after the first area), go to the left and dive into the water to grab an easy egg.
  • When you get to the revival tree with the fire ball tree next to it, shake some fire balls off and shoot the large statue in the middle of the cliff. Grab the egg with the harpoon to get it.

Karibu Valley: Twisting Canyon

  • You'll come across a small area with an island that's heightened above the ground with a single large statue in the middle of it. It's right behind a robot creating station. Create a robot and use it to shoot the statue, then harpoon the egg off the cliff.
  • There is an egg laying up on top of the second water pump you destroy. You'll probably see it during the cut-scene when it's blowing up. You have to blow it up before you can get the egg. After it's blown, use the harpoon to get it down off the pump.
  • When you get to the second crane, you'll see another black box to the right and to the right of that there is a small cliff which is hard to see from that angle. You should be able to see the egg sitting on it though. Use the harpoon to snatch it.

Karibu Valley: Ancient Palace

  • As you're entering, you'll come up to a sort of round-about. Keep heading right and there is an egg sitting there in plain view.
  • There will be a bridge in between some oil (on the left of it) and some water with a boat sticking out of it (on the right of it). The egg is down under the bridge. It can be hard to see so just move around on the bridge and you'll pick it up.
  • At the left where the two prisoners are guarded by the two Dozabots to the left, there is a statue above the Dozabots with some stairs leading up to it. Grab a bomb from the tree and blow up the statue to get the egg inside it.

Karibu Valley: Dam Destruction

  • There is an egg in the middle of the cliff island as you head right from the start. Use the ramp to the left of the island (make sure you press R2to jump the gap) and grab the egg.
  • Another egg exactly like the previous one is up above on another island. There is another ramp to the left of this one as well and another easy egg grab.
  • Once you've gone up the first elevator, head all the way to the left to the second giant seed tree and the egg will be on top of some scaffolding behind the tree. Use the harpoon to get it down.

Noko Woods: Uncle Monkfish I presume?

  • After you get the chicklet(s) across the river on the lily pads, send them down to the bushes guarding an egg in plain sight.
  • After you open the gate with the bull, shake the first tree and shoot a medicine ball at the statue above the water with the lily pads and use the harpoon to get the egg down.
  • When you reach the third botanist sleeping behind the bushes, shoot a fire ball at the statues next to him and one will reveal an egg to grab.

Noko Woods: Kat Amond the Mutants

  • After meeting Kat and going through the gate, there is an egg up on some cinder blocks in front of the waterfall. Harpoon it from the higher ground to pick it up.
  • In the next area, there's a big statue right in front of you as you enter. However, you need to go talk to the villager all the way to the left that will complain about the pollution. After talking to him, the winds will die and you can use Kat to fetch fire balls from the tree, then shoot one at the statue to reveal an egg.
  • In the area to the left with the toxic barrels in the water, use the cannon at the right (on the hill) to break the large statue and reveal an egg.

Noko Woods: Long Lost Yurobo

  • From the start, head right and then left into the water. There is an egg in the middle water fall.
  • Once you reach the village with polluting barrels, there is an egg under the bridge just above the barrels. Recycle the barrels and then dive under the bridge to get the egg (you have to recycle the barrels first or it won't let you dive because the water is polluted).
  • Up above the river in the same village, there are two bushes (off to the left) guarding an egg. Use a lily pad to transfer a chicklet over to the bushes and then grab the egg. Note that there are some rocks separating the river into two sides, so you need to get the chicklet onto the lily pad on the left side, which is near the bushes.

Noko Woods: Eight Legged Roki

  • When you pass the rock bridge, you'll see a large statue. Once you get your first robot that Roki can control, head back and destroy the statue to reveal an egg inside.
  • When you get to the area with the Spiderbot, break both of the large white walls at the top and the right one will have an egg to pick up.
  • When you get to the area with the large green boxes (one in the top right corner and one in the bottom left corner), head to the box in the lower left and head to the left. Use Kat to push the egg out under the steel beams to grab it. I was having trouble getting the egg to go the direction I wanted, but I found out if you move too far away from Kat, Kat will glitch over the beams and you can just use her to pick it up and it will let you back out from behind the beams.

Noko Woods: Destroy the Factory

  • Once you're up the elevator, use the two villagers on the wall with the red "X" to the left (there are only two) and an egg will appear behind it.
  • In the next area with the two mutated chicklets behind bars, the cage all the way to the right has an egg in plain view. Use Kat and the bull to open up the cage and grab it.
  • In the same area, head into the water and all the way up to the water wheel to find the egg at its base. Dive into the water to pick it up.

Doza Fortress: Scorched Forest

  • At the first cannon, destroy the statue on the ledge directly in front of you. It's not a normal looking statue, it's a sort of gargoyle looking statue that is black. The egg that is revealed will most likely fall off the ledge on its own, but you may need to harpoon it down.
  • Once you get to the second cannon and defeat the Spiderbot, swing it to the left and use it to blow up the statue sitting on a cliff just past the waterfall and reveal an egg that you'll need to harpoon down.
  • When you get to the second Spiderbot, use the fire balls from the tree (off to the right) to destroy the crates up the stairs to reveal an egg behind them.

Doza Fortress: Assault on the Fort

  • When you go to the right and find the fan machine, drive it up onto the button and the conveyer belt will start, After a few moments, an egg will pop out for you.
  • Once you've gotten the fan machine out to the main area (by opening the door there), you'll need to destroy the left most black wall to find an egg hiding behind it.
  • Up at the top by the last crane (that you'll use to pick up the final villager), destroy the black wall on the right to reveal another egg.

Doza Fortress: Flood the Quarry

  • On the right side of the quarry, in the area that will fill up with water when you fix the pipes, head to the left and dive into the water right in front of the button. Move around a little and you'll pick it up since it's not visible from that point of view. Note that you do have to fill the area with water before you can grab the egg.
  • Use the crane to the left of the quarry to pick up the egg between the two drainage pipes that you need to block and drop it near you.
  • When you're using the crane up top to pick up and move the colorful crates (that you'll use to block the drainage pipes), move the crate on the top right of the pile to reveal an egg underneath it. Then lift the egg and drop it off next to you.

Doza Fortress: Cross the Gorge

  • As soon as you open the gates with the first villager you rescue, get on the conveyer belt as there is an egg trapped by the gate you're opening and will be moving left once they're lifted. If you miss it, you can always travel left on the conveyer belt or wait until later when you go up the elevator as it will pop out onto that upper area.
  • To the right of your third caged villager, there are some crates up on a ledge. Harpoon the crates to move them out of the way and then harpoon the egg to bring it down.
  • At the conveyer belt with the large machine on it, blow up the black wall on the left side of the belt to reveal an egg behind it.

Doza Fortress: Facing Doza

  • After passing the three villagers, pull the level to the left behind the black building to release a bunch of explosive crates (that you will not use) and there will be an egg mixed in with them.
  • Once you get to the cannon and enable it with the button to the right of it, you'll need to use it to destroy the black wall up on the conveyer belt where the explosive crates were at. Once destroyed, the egg will slide down the conveyer belt and fall to the ground.
  • After the cannon area, you'll pass by some caged bulls (which you'll use in the next area). You'll enter an area with five Dozabots and there will be an egg on the right ledge in plain view. An easy grab for the final egg in the game!
